EDL Energy Hazardous Area Compliance
AEP Elical were engaged by EDL Energy to complete Hazardous Area Compliance work for EDL’s Wingfield 1 site. The planning, design, operation and maintenance of the fuel infrastructure at each of EDL’s sites require periodic inspection and evaluation in order to ensure that the installation meets the current Australian standards. As such, AEP Elical provided qualified engineering services to perform two items of work, including reviewing & performing of inspections on the current EEHA documentation and installation, and update of Hazardous Area Verification Dossier (HAVD). Specifics of these works included:
Updating of EEHA documentation,
Creation of MSDS sheets for methane,
Update of existing hazardous area drawings,
Update of instrument & cable location and equipment location drawings,
Perform intrinsically safe calculations to prove compliance (ex e and ex i),
Collation of all records of electrical tests,
Inspection of schedules,
Recording of modifications, and
Details of personnel competence.
This project was completed in line with new Australian Standard AS/NZS 60079, the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, and the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011. Our people successfully delivered this project to ensure that our client’s systems were maintaining current standards and best practise; protecting their people and their assets.
